David Hamilton - founder of David Hamilton Design

David Hamilton is a local boy, born and raised in Northern California. His family lives here, his brothers went to school here, and David spent sixteen years in our local schools, graduating summa cum laude from Humboldt State University in fall of 2003.

He began doing graphic design during elementary school, and by the age of eleven he was doing advanced vector graphics. He designed logos and buttons for local bands and his graphics were often used for school functions.

He began doing web design in 2002, building pages for local events, theatrical productions and history projects. His natural eye for graphics served him well and he decided to broaden his horizons by taking classes in web design. In 2005 he became webmaster for the Blue Ox Millworks and Historic Park and designed a new site for them that increased their web traffic by over 1700% and brought attention from more than 115 countries around the world. Emboldened by his successes, he began taking on more clients and in February of 2007 launched his own official business, David Hamilton Design. In his first year, the business expanded to nearly twenty clients and twelve original websites, including a national award winning site for the Humboldt Rose Society (see inset)

A Personal Connection

Our sites are not cookie-cutter templates or generic color schemes. We take the time to sit down with you and work out a site that exactly fits your company's needs. We also offer maintenance and upkeep services to make sure that your site is receiving the attention that it deserves.

Your website is a reflection of your personality. Our job as designers is merely to take a snapshot of the enthusiasm and imagination that drive your business, then translate it to the medium (whether posters, print, or on the world wide web.) We want to get to know our clients, so that other people around the world will be able to get a glimpse into what makes their organization special.

Case Study: Humboldt Rose Society

www.humboldtrose.org

The Humboldt Rose Society is a local non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about healthy rose gardening in the cool coastal climate of Northern California.

The rose society site at www.humboldtrose.org was completed in early 2007 and in January of 2008 was announced as the gold medal winner for best local rose society site of 2007 by the American Rose Society. Humboldt becomes the smallest society ever to win the award.
